Biography

Francesco Giuntini was born on 4 October 1946 in Lari, in the province of Pisa, to parents from Livorno. He grew up in Livorno and studied in Pisa, where he graduated with honours in Mechanical Engineering.

During his university years he also studied art in Livorno and portrait painting in Florence, in a private studio.

After graduating he married and moved to Genoa for work. In the city of the Lanterna, the Giuntini family—enriched by the arrival of two children—lived for ten years, a period that marks the first phase of the painter’s artistic production.

Returning to Livorno in 1985 opened the second phase of Giuntini’s painting career, marked by exhibitions and personal successes, beginning with his joining the Tuscan painters’ group “Giovanni March”.

Today Giuntini continues to paint, ranging from seascapes, lake and countryside landscapes to portraiture and watercolour lithographs.
